Hello Kitty x New Era
It’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with the iconic Hello Kitty image – take my kitchen for example, tricked out Hello Kitty theme. Real talk. So of course I’m loving these New Era caps. Although, I don’t think I have enough swagger to pull them off, I still appreciate the collaboration.

For more colourways, check out Freshness, who’s checked them out as well.
GQ x MJ
September issues of great magazines are always something to look forward to. They are the issue to the new season, some say the best season of the year, therefore the best issue of the year. GQ is a love of mine, and I have even more of a reason to love this September’s issue of Gentlemen’s Quarterly, which pays tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

I cannot wait to add this to my Louis Vuitton library collection
The Square Project

When it comes to recycling and living green I try my best to be an advocate and do so. When it comes to ‘green’ apparel, style usually conflicts with this (I do although own a few bamboo t-shirts which are so soft and amazing). The Square Project however is a sustainable clothing line that I have just caught on to and is now on my radar.
The Square Project is the first clothing line as part of Study NY, a creative collective which is lead by New York based eco fashion designer, Tara St James. Originally from Montreal and formerly the creative director of Covet, Tara also produces within the collective jewelry, graphic design, photography, music, video and fine art all with the ethos of sustainable production. They aim to use recycled and organic materials as much as possible, while leaving as little a carbon footprint as is manageable.
The Square Project is a study of shapes in relation to the human form – starting with the square and will launch at New York Fashion Week in September as part of The Green Shows.
Here is an endearing video that was made in support of receiving sponsorship for The Square Project to make it to New York Fashion Week. Having worked with a designer for last seasons Toronto Fashion Week, I can appreciate this delightful outreach.
Also worth checking out are some of Tara’s accessories. I love this fringe necklace!

Fortune Sound Club

I had the honour and pleasure of working at the ‘soft’ opening of Fortune Sound Club last night. Although the new club, located in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown was only about 70% done, there was nothing soft about what went down. The place was packed, we were running out of drinks and the music went hard (Fortune is stocked with the only Funktion-One Soundsystem in Canada!).
If you missed out on popping the cherry of the place to be from now on, make sure you join the following – blog, Facebook, and Twitter - to get the latest updates on weeklies, weekender nights and events all going down at Fortune.
The Hills x Karin Bubas = With Friends Like These
Monday nights are not the same without a new Hills episode to watch. You know I’m right. Everyone watches this show. Even your boyfriend. To fill that void (note: new episodes start on September 29th), Vancouver-based artist Karin Bubas has created a series of soft pastel portraits based on the cast of the hit MTV reality show. You can view Bubas’s exhibition With Friends Like These at the Charles H. Scott Gallery, part of Emily Carr University of Art & Design now until September 13, 2009.

Lindsay Lohan x Elle UK
I’m all for Lindsay Lohan’s comeback. She’s a hot mess that I’d love to be around. And I know she can do better than Samantha Ronson. Perhaps another long locks beauty, half Asian … I’m just sayin’. Anyways, check out Elle UK’s behind-the-scenes with Lindsay for their September cover shoot shot by photographer, Rankin on the Elle TV clip below (note: love that they give fashion credits during the segment)

Nike x Transformers II = Zoom Fun Police Autobots/Decepticons
I’m not a sneaker freak, but I do appreciate creative, great looking sneaks (I just wish they made some in my size), which is one of the reasons I must share these Nike x Transformer II kicks. Reason two: I have a few guy friends who would love a pair or two – so if anyone knows of where I can get my hands on some, please tell!

Vancouver 2010 x Mario x Sonic = Olympic Winter Games
Being a Mario and Sonic fan from my pre-teens, this new game totally got me excited. And what’s even better – it’s to do with the Vancouver 2010 Olympics! An event that not only is my city hosting but one that I will be volunteering at!
